It’s a baseball tradition: win an playoff series and everyone gets a champaign shower.  Apparently, the celebratory bubbly is not the only booze that finds its way into Major League clubhouses.  It was recently reported (and then over reported) that a few Boston Red Sox pitchers would indulge in the occasional beer on their off days.

The beer along with the consumption of fried chicken is now being blamed for the Sox’s epic late season collapse and because the baseball world revolves around Boston, MLB is now considering a ban on beer in clubhouses.  That’s all well and good but we think it is more important for the Commissioner’s office to focus on banning PEDs in clubhouses and leave beer out of it.
