The new year has arrived which means it’s time to start thinking about all the things you don’t like about yourself and make a resolution to change them. Getting into better shape is a very common new year’s resolution as evidenced by the jam packed gyms in the month of January. These same resolutions are also very difficult to keep as evidenced by the empty gyms in the month of February.
One reason many people fall off the dieting wagon is they cut out too much too fast. Beer is universally regarded as being bad for your waistline and thus one of the first indulgences to go. While sucking down a six pack every night will undoubtable pad the midsection, the old adage “everything in moderation” certainly applies to tipping back your favorite pint.
While we are hesitant to say that beer is good for you, the ingredients in beer do have some nutritional value and when consumed in moderation, beer has the same caloric impact as a glass of orange juice. So let’s raise our glasses and toast 2012 as the year we all get into better shape without sacrificing our favorite brew.
