Holding a blind taste test to determine the best American Lager doesn’t seem like the best use of time along the lines of picking which Jersey Shore cast member is most suitable for marriage or choosing Creed’s best song. That didn’t stop Consumer Reports from putting together a panel of experts (presumably college seniors) to judge ten top selling regular and light beers.
The results are in, and Coors Regular takes the title of Best of the Worst. The Consumer Reports experts concluded (not ironically) that Coors Regular “has balanced flavors with some citrus notes, and no off-tastes.” Cringe worthy runners up include a beer brewed for Trader Joe’s, Miller High Life, and Big Flats 1901 which, no joke, is a lager brewed for Walgreens.
